Promoting Trust and Accountability in Uganda’s DNS Ecosystem
The DNS Policy & Regulation track empowers participants to develop governance models, legal frameworks, and community-driven initiatives that strengthen trust, security, and accountability in Uganda’s DNS environment. It invites creative, practical solutions for managing .ug domains, reducing DNS abuse, and promoting inclusive Internet policies.
What You’ll Work On
Participants in this track will:
Draft DNS-related policies or guidelines that promote trust and resilience
Design frameworks for abuse reporting, takedown processes, or dispute resolution
Build educational tools or advocacy platforms for DNS policy awareness
Suggest inclusive stakeholder engagement models (government, civil society, technical community)
Projects can be technical (e.g. dashboards, reporting tools) or policy-oriented (e.g. draft legislation, stakeholder toolkits).
You will have Access to
- Sample policies and case studies from African ccTLDs (ZADNA, KENIC, etc.)
- Public DNS abuse datasets and governance reports
- Mentorship from experts in Internet governance and DNS regulation
- Mentorship from experts in Internet governance and DNS regulation
- Slack & GitHub workspace for collaboration and sharing drafts
